Here's the story:

Someone's set up a script that you can use to delete your presence on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace etc in one hit. Would be very handy if your New Year's Resolution is to get a Real Life.
Thankfully, it can't delete your IP presence. So you can still hang out with us all in here...

i've heard that you can't actually delete a fb account, only deactivate it. they keep any info you ever post there... scary stuff!

Yeah that's right MM I had a FB account awhile ago and I tried to delete it but could only deactivate it so if I decide I want it back I just have to log in again
Yep, that's true. But it would help a lot with reducing your online presence. Like posting a "goodbye, my real life needs me" on a forum, you can always go back if you change your mind.
So what would you do if you weren't spending x hours per week in online social networks? I'd probably still have some form of downtime/veg out time, and some form of social gossiping. Maybe more phone calls, and more reading or movie watching.

I have done the disappearing act from time to time and been soooo productive in my real life. It's scary.

Eeek, this is all too true!
I wanna live in a community where we get to gossip, er, constructively talk, all day whilst doing the chores as a group :yes.

I figure I just need a computer in my head, so I can chat on here (and to other friends), while doing other things....
I agree with Milkymumma though, I'd go batty without my social networks.
