Corn kernels...how to remove?

Just a quickie (whose in :rofl)

If I wanted to get corn kernels off the cob should I boil and then attack with my knife? or just go right ahead with attacking?

I'd cook them first... soooo much easier to slice off.. but my friend gets them off first before cooking.

I steam them on the cob first, then hold with tongs/fork and slice off with a sharp knife. My ex-H may have not been helpful in many regards, but he did teach me this!

I just sliced them off un cooked it worked pretty well actually but will sharpen my knife next time :)

Ohhh, how're you gonna cook them now? Do you boil them? Or zap them in the microwave? Or are you just throwing them into another dish to cook?

I usually remove corn with my teeth, quickly followed by swallowing them :rofl

I just put them in a bowl with boiling water from the kettle for a few mins and then chucked thme into my shephard's pie

they're yummy raw in salads too :)

(and you can do them (not like that Kyls ;)) that way and steam them quickly and freeze for later too)

I was actually really surprised at just how many kernels came off, one full size cob was about the same amount that I'd get out of a frozen bag for a meal for five of us....
