Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience of vertigo- Í had a bit of an episode during the night the other night (the night the cyclone hit) and it's knocked me for six.. feeling much better today- but still feel tired and it's hard to be at the computer and concentrate for any amount of time..

Before it happened I had woken up in the middle of the night not able to sleep- I also had quite a sore throat and ears.. so I lay watching tv, and did a bit of a massage on my neck to get things moving- I'm wondering if this contributed..

anyway.. your thoughts, experience and wisdom would be appreciated

thanks

You couldn't have a bit of a middle ear infection, could you?

I've never had vertigo I don't think, though I often suffer from low blood pressure - particularly in the summer. Have to work hard to stay hydrated.

Sometimes virus' can affect the middle ear and therefore balance. Meniere's I think it's known as.

I sometimes have bouts of vertigo when ill but not otherwise and I think it's left over from ear infections as a child.

Hope it's a once off for you K. :heart

My Mum gets vertigo from red wine, could it be related to a food you might have eaten?

we had tacos for dinner.. maybe a preservative in that.. haven't had them for a while..

had a google look- maybe I have an inner ear infection or inflamation.. as well as being a bit run down..

Not necessarily Cherish. I've had it before and felt totally fine apart from the vertigo. It's a terrible thing, but from memory it fixed itself after a few days (?). I did go to the Dr but I don't recall there was anything she could do for it.

I was just about to come online and start this very thread! For the last few days I've been having moments where I feel like I'm falling over - very odd sensation. I'll be watching with interest.

I've never had it. I have a friend who has it and she won't come sailing with us because of it. Shame, but I understand. I don't really know what "triggers" it for her.. but I know it knocked her out for a while and then she got it under control but still doesn't do things like .. go sailing for example.

Good luck and I hope it goes away and stays away.
