Yay! I wonder when Brisbane will get ours? The Royal was talking about starting a milk bank a few years ago.

I realise pasteurisation is a necessary precaution for milk-banking but I have to wonder how it changes the milk proteins and enzymes and other nutritional factors?

But apparently not in Norway (http://www.eatsonfeets.org/docs/Donor_Milk_Banking_and_Breastfeeding_in_Norway.pdf )! ;)

How do they work that? I know some systems do thorough screening of donor mothers.

Yes, screening donor, then also testing the milk for possible bacterial contamination during storage and handling. Safe but raw human milk is soooo much better, especially for prem and/or sick babies.

Seriously, we should all up and move to Norway or surrounds. Apart from the cold of course :2lol

Great news about the Milk Bank, I hope it is successful!
