I've only got half a dozen left I'm sorry... And will be 6 months till my next lot are ready. I think the kids have been using them to wash out the animal troughs etc, as the cupboard went bare quickly this year!
Glad you found some though, T.

At the right time of the year, they have them at the Caboolture markets. I haven't seen them in the last few weeks though. Unfortunately I only have a couple left too.

You get lots per plant. The plants need a long growing season - 6 months of warm weather. They're heavy feeders - water and organic matter and it's a vine like a choko or cucumber vine so it needs somewhere to ramble.

6 months, hey? Should be OK if I get them in soon. And yes - I've already got a fence in mind :)

Do they grow well in tassie? Dad always talked about them growing in the backyard when he was a kid and I just assumed they were a tropical thing...
Off to reasearch:)

I've never heard of them growing well down south. They are a tropical plant...
I wrote about them on my garden blog, here (http://belindamoore.blogspot.com/2009/07/loofah-or-luffa.html).
