I'm jut wondering, because I do have an icecream maker thingy here - and I have a pantry cupboard next to me filled with last seasons preserved pears and plums. So I was wondering, if I puree'd the pears/plums etc, and added some sugar, could I stick it in the icecream maker with any chance of sucess?

Is there egg-whites or something else I'd need to add to the mix? And should I strain the juice from the fruit before puree'ing it or can I shove it all in together??

Thanks!

I've never actually made sorbet before, but I don't see why you couldn't use tinned fruit? I would think, actually, it would work rather well. If it was tinned with sugar, you probably wouldn't even need to add sugar.

I'd add it all in, juice and all. Can't hurt to try, right? You might want to puree it first, but otherwise, go fir it.
