Been trying to work out where to put this thread. I'm just starting to freak because I can't deny that my oldest is starting her hormonal changes. It's all emotional and what she is thinking about that has changed. She often bursts into tears at school now and is soooo emotional about everything. On the other hand she is finally cleaning up more around the house :) She now thinks babies are really cute and is sooo interested in the idea of bfs, eeek. She is turning 9 next month. I'm thinking she is going to be an early one to puberty. The thing is she is fine otherwise. I think it's more my own issues than anything else. Is there any books that can help me lol. I'm freaking out about the next few years.

I think the raising children website now has stuff on it about adolescents.. maybe a good place to start
actually- it has pre-teens and early teens..

I highly recommend this book (http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Seven-Sacred-Rites-Menarche-Kristi-Meisenbach-Boylan/9781891661198). Sold out at that supplier, but you should be able to find it somewhere. This one (http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Blessing-Not-Curse-Jane-Bennett/9781863513005) is also great.

I think DD is getting there too. She too has been more emotional but also restless and trying to push against all her boundaries. There has been a lot of talk about body image, losing weight, fitness and a subtle change in her views about boys. She is able to imagine life outside of her home and talks about the choices she will make in the future. We bought her a crop-top type thing a couple of months ago which I have noticed that she will wear about every 4-6 weeks and I wonder if her body is cycling.
Those book suggestions look great Bel.
