Paint for toys?

I'm wanting to buy some blank russing nesting dolls, and make some wooden toys for Ezri at some point soon, but I have no idea what sort of paint to use for them? She's past the putting things in her mouth, so from that respect it doesn't really matter, but I'd rather have something with a few less chemicals in it if possible?

Any suggestions?
