Bruises?

Just wondering what everyone uses on their bruises? Growing up I used to put some black cream on it but I don't remember what it is called!

Is there a more natural alternative?

Arnica cream is supposed to be good for bruises.

Will have to grab some... both myself and Sook seem to love bruising our shins. Goodness knows how! Well, she falls over constantly but I don't think I do that LOL

I remember hiridoid from my childhood. But I essentially don't put anything on them. I do however put arnica cream on when the injury first occurs to prevent extensive bruising. Take homeopathic arnica or aconite (for the shock) or ledum if it involved a puncture as well. But after 24 hours nothing.

sweet. Will be good to have something for future use... but I don't always know she's bruised until I see it if that makes sense? lol

I'm just wondering why you need to put something on bruises?? I'm not being rude, I'm just wondering?

I didn't think I did need to but my mother insisted I needed to put the cream (I think it was hiridoid I was referring to in my original post) to "draw" the bruise out.

I know that sometimes my bruises don't come out if that makes sense but if I'm seeing them then I don't know why?

I'd just leave it alone, personally!! lol... if the bruise doesn't 'come out', it will still heal :) Some bruises are deep, some are near the surface. Whether you can see them or not won't impact on their healing, I promise! Oh...and I'm pretty good with these sorta things, cause I'm a nurse ;)

oh goody... my mum just makes me feel like a neglectful parent so I start questioning what I'm doing.

Of course she did tell me I should drug my kid (with panadol) so I could do some study so y'know....!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :gasp

Yes, despite my saying that arnica is for bruises, I've never put anything on them and we've all survived. Some people just like to put creams on things so it feels like they're doing something I think.

I use arnica, I bruise and so does dd3, I like arnica
