Ok, so I have 2 tatts, one on my sholdour (which I love, and it's fine) and one on my belly.. a lizard. Which I got when I was 18. So with 4 pregnancies and MUCH weight gain/loss/gain/gain, you can imagine what it looks like now! :gasp

My question is, are these things repairable? I thought so, but then a friend said 'Nah, with a stretch mark thru it, they wont do it!'

Aaaaaarrgghhh! Is this true? Is my poor lizard friend severed and stretched forever?

And yes, I may post a pic, because the poor lil guy looks so sad LOL!

I imagine the ink would be unpredictable on scar tissue. It might end up looking all smudged. Which would you prefer?

I reckon it might be possible to design something new to accommodate the scar though. How attached are you to your lizard? Could a total upgrade be in order? ;)

a total upgrade is workable, but i'm unsure what I could make around it?! It's fairly, um... buggered LOL!

A good tattooist would be able to come up with something.

awww, lil lizard. yeah, having a poke at my own stretch marks, it would probably take ink quite differently from the not stretch marked bits huh. so no idea how that would work, but a good tatooist should know surely.

Doesn't look too bad, but yeah, like others have mentioned not sure how scar tissue would go.

That said, I have had a tattoo on scar tissue (old 2nd degree burn) and it looks fine.

oooh interesting! i'd think that the skin might behave the same, maybe..

I've heard that having a tat over a stretchmark hurts alot more, he's a cute lil guy that lizard. How big is he? he doesn't look too big so I'd say getting something over him would work but yeah def ring a tat shop and ask some questions

I'll be interested to see how you go sunrise sister. I have very recently got my first tattoo, 3.5 hours down, need another 2 hours to finish. BUT, I am already planning the next one to try and cover up a large nasty looking scar on my middle. I had my gall bladder removed 11 years ago and the scar looks hideous! Some lovely ink would cover it nicely, but don't know how it will go
