Why why WHY would you send your child off to school camp SICK??? Just before E got on the bus on monday, i heard another mother say 'Aw, well, she's sick, but she's going anyway!' I muttered 'She shouldnt be going at all' but as usual got ignored. :laugh
And so of course, E is home 3 days later, yup.. SICK! arrrghhh!!! SO frustrating! I understand that camp is really exciting, and expensive, but argh!
Hoping this cold/flu thing she has clears before baby arrives.. and soon so E can enjoy all the fun end of year stuff at school! :(

I have to say I feel your pain.. but I'd be the mom sending her sick child. I'm sorry but my daughter just doesn't go 'down' when she is sick. She gets a thing and then is over it in about 3 days never really getting it bad and if I kept her home every time she got sick.. she'd never go anywhere.
This past week she's had a runny nose and a cough but I cannot convince her to stay home from school.
I know I'm the mom and should have the power but if she feels up to it I hate to stop her.
I don't know how sick this kid on the bus was... but I just know that my kid wouldn't let me keep her down just because of a cold.
Around here they kinda have rules though. If the runny nose is clear they are okay with it. If it is green or yellow they recommend the child stays home. I believe a dry cough is okay but one that is productive they prefer you keep your kid home.
I'm not trying to be flippant about the situation but I thought I'd own up to the fact that I'm guilty as charged and I hope that after this first year of school the sicknesses are greatly reduced. (my girl has always been at home with me and rarely got sick.. but now she's in her first year of school she's had SOMETHING pretty much since the time she started school).
I did keep her home for a week when she had swine flu.. even though she was bored to tears and wanted to go to school but you know that was different.
sorry your wee one is sick. Hope she gets better before the baby comes.
