Our Community's Philosophy & Forum Guidelines




    Mission Statement

  • Intuitive Parenting has been started by a group of natural & attachment parents who felt that there was a need for an online community that can offer support for parenting children who are beyond the age of 2, right through to the teenage years.


  • We are a peaceful community with a strong parenting philosophy that has been well researched.


  • This is a support forum for these parents who already practice or want to learn more about attachment parenting with their toddlers and older children.


  • Our forums have a friendly, community feel. One of the reasons for this is due to the fact that many members know each other in real life. We often have gatherings in each capital city where strong, lasting friendships are formed.


  • We treat each other with the same respect online as we do when we gather offline.


  • We welcome free speech and debate.


  • We also strongly believe that parents who choose to parent gently will also be more amicable when spoken to gently as well. When posting on the forums, it might help to keep in mind these questions. “Would I like my children to hear me saying this?” or “Would I talk to my children like this?”


  • We acknowledge the limitations and personal boundaries within all of us and respect that no single member will follow all of the AP ideals all of the time but most are striving for this.


  • If you strongly disagree with our parenting ideals then we know there are other forums that you would like more. Please keep this in mind, as its much more polite to bite your tongue, than to say something that will cause harm.


  • If you want to get to know us, and become a contributing member of this community; come on over to the Introductions Forum and introduce yourself. Being a relatively small and very friendly group of people, we would love to have the opportunity meet you and welcome you into our community


Community Guidelines

  • Posting URL's for own profit/spamming by contributing members
    This is a community group. It is run, supported, guided and paid for by its members. It is a little bit rude to post personal URL's without supporting us hey? Paid signature advertising is a pretty darn cheap way of keeping things friendly.

  • Prejudicial or personal attacks
    This is just not on, seriously. Again, would you talk to your children like that? Would you like to hear them talking to someone like that? Please keep that in mind. Yep, things can get heated, but please, play nice. In real life, its nearly always best to remove yourself from the argument and talk to the person you have an issue with in private, and in the same vein, it is usually better to take problems off the main forum and sort them out in private. Screaming like a fishwife is not a good look on anyone.

  • Discussion of illegal activities & SPAM
    hmmm, yep, explains itself. Wont be tolerated.

  • The community philosophy will be pretty well self monitored by the community itself. They are pretty simple, easy to follow and live by.
