- Intuitive Parenting has been started by a group of natural & attachment parents who felt that there was a need for an online community that can offer support for parenting children who are beyond the age of 2, right through to the teenage years.

- We are a peaceful community with a strong parenting philosophy that has been well researched.

- This is a support forum for these parents who already practice or want to learn more about attachment parenting with their toddlers and older children.

- Our forums have a friendly, community feel. One of the reasons for this is due to the fact that many members know each other in real life. We often have gatherings in each capital city where strong, lasting friendships are formed.

- We treat each other with the same respect online as we do when we gather offline.

- We welcome free speech and debate.

- We also strongly believe that parents who choose to parent gently will also be more amicable when spoken to gently as well. When posting on the forums, it might help to keep in mind these questions. “Would I like my children to hear me saying this?” or “Would I talk to my children like this?”

- We acknowledge the limitations and personal boundaries within all of us and respect that no single member will follow all of the AP ideals all of the time but most are striving for this.

- If you strongly disagree with our parenting ideals then we know there are other forums that you would like more. Please keep this in mind, as its much more polite to bite your tongue, than to say something that will cause harm.

This is a community group. It is run, supported, guided, and paid for by its members. If you own a business or other enterprise we ask that you do not use discussions within the forum to promote your business. Links to websites relating to your business are also not allowed. Comments within member discussions relating to products or services you may offer will also be closely monitored by admin. Paid signature advertising is an inexpensive way to contribute towards the community and make others aware of any products or services you offer.

*Business Promotion
There are a number of inexpensive ways to promote your business or organisation; paid signature advertising and banner ads can be arranged by clicking on 'Settings' at the very top of any page within the forum. Select 'Paid Advertising' from the menu along the left of the page, and then select the form of advertising that best suits you. Only paid advertisers are permitted to have avatars and user names that in any way reflect their business.

We do have a few simple guidelines to ensure that the integrity of our advertisers and community is upheld. We encourage you to start a thread in the Community Supporters Forum: Community Business Listings Sub-Forum where you can place links to your website and let members know of any specials or new products you have. Paid Advertisers can have ONE thread in the Community Supporters Forum that they can update as often as they like to promote their business.

This is just not on, seriously. We are a community with a broad range of experiences, beliefs, attitudes and opinions. We ask that you respect each individual's right to their opinion. We welcome debate, and informed discussion, but ask that you keep it civil.

*Discussion of illegal activities & SPAM
Will not be tolerated in any form. If you have any doubt about what may or may not be considered spam please contact a moderator within the relevant sub-forum.

* Buying or Selling goods
Financial, or other transactions between members are not guaranteed or overseen by admin, with the exception of specific community fundraising activities. Access to the op-shop sub-forum is limited to members with a min of 100 posts and a membership time of at least 3 months. Once you meet these criteria you will automatically be granted access to the op-shop. Until then we ask that you do not offer goods for sale or swap within IP.

*Private Forums
Within IP we have a number of private forums to help support members. Because of the sensitive and highly personal nature of these forums access is restricted until members have a minimal post count of 100 and a membership time of at least three months.

The community philosophy will be pretty well self monitored by the community itself. They are pretty simple, easy to follow and live by.
