So what have we been up to???
Mine has had a work out this week. Buttermilk bread and scones, butter (duh), frozen cocktails, frozen yoghurt "icecream" as well as the usual stuff... loving it!

Of course this thread needed reviving! I wonder if we need to sticky all the important links and info for it? LOL
Hmmm, yesterday mexe-beans and mushroom risotto whilst a friend was visiting (she so, so wants one). Been using mine in cheese and sour cream making (excess milk) 'cos I can bring to a certain temp and hold for a certain time etc. Easy peasy.
Oh, here's one I'm still sipping...
Coffee Liqueur
Ingredients:
390g raw sugar
370g hot water
30g instant freeze-dried coffee
500g vodka
1 large vanilla bean
Method:
Grind sugar on speed 9 for 30 seconds. Add hot water and coffee. Mix on 100 degrees, speed 4 for 1 min 30 sec. Slice vanilla bean in half, lengthwise and then each half into quarters. Add vanilla pieces and vodka to TMX bowl. Heat at 60 degrees, speed 3 for 8 minutes.
Pour into a glass bottle and sit for 4 days. Strain and pour into same bottle (will need approx 2L size). Store in a cool, dark place. Enjoy!
If you don't have a Thermomix, this could be made on the stovetop or microwave by basically following the steps above and stirring over low-medium heat.
I have no idea of the resulting alcohol content of this liqueur.
LOL!
Thermomix thread, oh how I missed you.
I'm back from doing a demo tonight. It was a fun demo, but I'm shattered - it's hard work.
Cooked Pad Thai from Cyndi's TMX cookbook last night. It was good. And so easy. Adding it to regulars.
We still do porridge 3 different ways in the mornings. Honey coconut quinoa porridge for me. Apple, oat and sultana porridge with yogurt mixed in for DH and regular porridge for the kids.
DH started making the most beautiful ice cream. Frozen banana's, frozen strawberries and a bit of homemade (in the rtmx of course) vanilla yogurt. Smooth creamy dessert. SM, were you telling my DH about it at Jodie's, or did he overhear you talking about it? Who cares, it's devine!
I have the busiest month every TMX business wise. I am booked up with a demo a week (sometimes 2 a week) til mid Nov. It's insane. I've got heaps of enquiries coming in too!
Tonight I sold a tmx to a lady who had a TM21 back in the UK that she bought in the 80's and was using up until she came to Australia two years ago. Now she wants the new model. But it was so interesting talking to her about her old machine![]()
*stamps feet* i want Thermomix. My friend M has a thermomix and I'm so so jealous. one day i will get one....
i was going to have a TMX party tomorrow but could not drum up any interest in town. Hard just being back for two weeks cos i have not had a chance to catch up with many people yet. So i am debating about just buying one and not worrying about a party? And also debating about how much i really need one.
lol Michelle I'm having the same debate ... they're having a cooking demo class thingy here on Sunday but I couldn't get there and so I've booked to have a party in a week and a half and am hoping I'll have more than one friend there. lmao
See how I go!
The more you all talk about uses for it the more I want one!
I *have not* missed this thread.
Why did I even click on it? See, I'd already decided that I didn't need one, but now I know about coffee liqueur and pad thai... Argh!![]()

+ an early chrimbo pressie
hehehe Kathryn I know... I *love* pad thai! Can't really indulge in the liqueur given anxiety issues and breastfeeding so that wasn't a big drawcard... the guy telling me on the phoné we'd be making risotto... mmmmmm yummo!
Oh dear, I almost forgot all about my *need* for a TMX. Almost ...
Well, I've found the perfect use for Thermie. As part of my "kick start my crappy endocrine system" thing, I'm back on InLiven as well as a liver detox powder from the Naturopath. I did used to struggle getting the InLiven down, but half an apple, half a kiwifruit, a couple of strawberries & a few frozen mixed berries, a few ice cubes, a bit of water & the 2 powders. YUMMOOOOO!!! Super yummy!! Twice a day...mmmmm
I made my first ever batch of fresh pasta last night & was really happy with the result. I tried making the creamy vanilla icecream from the EDC. It tasted nice, but didn't really freeze very hard, so melted almost as soon as I scooped it out. More prawn & asparagus risotto (), lots of soup, getting good with bread, ummmm...and various other stuff I can't recall right now. Going to try some raw choc soon. I've had the ingredients for a while, but haven't put them all together yet.
Girls girls girls...
You know my DH would literally LEAVE me if I went out and bought one of these things - why oh why do you have to torture me????
lol
Can't believe I signed up to host a demo aaaaaaaaaaaargh no one ever comes to things I host! lol
Chelle, you do need one!Make jam without stirring!
Aleza, TMX would be perfect in the bus, honestly! And with all those different meals you need to cook - priceless... The other day I had 2 meals ready to go in under half an hour (mexe beans, salad, etc was one, and mushroom risotto the second one - then out the door with the risotto for my meeting and the others LOVED the meal I left behind).
I've been out of the house all day and came home to a non-TMX meal and then looked at it tonight and felt a little sad 'cos I hadn't used it today. I missed my TMX. How's that for customer satisfaction? ROFL
why oh why do i come back to this thread. DH cooked dinner tonight and if I had a thermomix i think DH would cook more often. I want one and need one
